The Hooptie books
Do you know what a “hooptie” is?
It’s a car that’s in, ahem, less than wonderful condition. Pretty sure you’ve had one. I’ve had more than my share. A window is stuck halfway down, there’s a magic formula for number of ignition turns before the engine starts, something is perenially duct-taped…you know what I’m talking about.
Well, I propose that we are all hoopties in a spiritual sense: much less than perfect, but somehow running this race of faith out in our ordinary days with our hope set on our perfect Savior.

“Hopin’ Hoopties” tells my story of how a group of ordinary women began to pray to an extraordinary God for the youth and youth leaders of an ordinary youth group: our early fumbles as a prayer ministry, the lessons we learned along the way, and best of all, the incredible answers He gave. Alternating with our personal experiences are chapters about what to pray for, why prayer for this generation is critical (partial spoiler alert: they need absolute truth!), and how to handle spiritual warfare in intercessory prayer.

“Hurtin’ Hoopties” is a collection of stories told to me by believers in Jesus who have gone through hard things and seen His help in miraculous ways. Divided into five sections, the book includes biblical truth about features of our Christian walk: redemption, remodeling, relationship with God, rescue, and the reward of heaven. Full of humor and hope, you will be sure to find strength and encouragement for your own life situations.
